.......Obafemi Owode Chairman attends 2026 International Friendship Partners Conference in China, promotes youth innovation, technology and industrial development.
The Executive Chairman of Obafemi Owode Local Government, Ambassador Adesina ‘Lanre Ogunsola, FCPA, has participated in the just concluded 2026 International Friendship Partners Conference held in Jiangxi Province, China, where he advocated greater investment in youth development, technology, innovation and industrialisation.
The international conference brought together youth leaders, government representatives and friendship partners from Jiangxi Province and other parts of the world to exchange ideas, strengthen international cooperation and explore opportunities for economic and technological development.
Obafemi Owode Local Government was selected to participate in the conference, according to the council, on the strength of its industrial development potential and growing profile as an investment destination in Ogun State.
Speaking at the conference, Amb. Ogunsola centred his presentation on the theme, “ Energy of Youths for a Better World,” urging young people across the world to channel their energy into creativity, courage, technology and innovation.
He challenged youths to move beyond complaints and take advantage of emerging opportunities to contribute meaningfully to the development of their communities and countries.
According to him, the rapidly changing global environment requires young people to acquire relevant skills, embrace innovation and prepare themselves for a future increasingly driven by science, technology and entrepreneurship.
The conference also provided an avenue for participants to exchange ideas on China's rapid technological and industrial development and examine ways of adapting some of its experiences to youth development and economic advancement in other parts of the world.
The council chairman stressed the importance of producing a new generation of world-class professionals in engineering, science, entrepreneurship and technical fields, while encouraging stronger support for researchers and innovators.
He noted that sustained investment in human capital, technology and research remains critical to achieving meaningful economic development and creating opportunities for young people.
A major highlight of the conference was the expression of interest by Jiangxi Yawei Electric Co. Ltd. in establishing its operations in Obafemi Owode Local Government area of Ogun State.
The development was announced by the Vice Governor of Jiangxi Province, Xia Wenyong who accorded special recognition to the council chairman ,Amb.Adesina 'Lanre Ogunsola FCPA, with reference to the cordial relationship between China and Nigeria Government, while expressed confidence in the outcome of the international gathering.
Xia Weyong said the conference had provided a platform for governments and international partners to come together, share experiences and explore opportunities capable of promoting development across different sectors.
Responding to the proposed investment interest, Amb. Ogunsola welcomed the prospective partnership, describing the proposed establishment of the company in Obafemi Owode as an important opportunity for industrial and economic development.
He assured the prospective investors of the local government's willingness to support initiatives capable of creating employment, stimulating economic activity and strengthening the industrial base of the council area.
The council boss also referenced the commitment of the Ogun State Government under the leadership of Governor Dapo Abiodun, CON, to maintaining security of lives and property across the state, stressing that a secure environment is essential for attracting and retaining investors.
Ogunsola expressed optimism that the proposed investment interest would translate into a fruitful partnership that would benefit both the investors and residents of Obafemi Owode Local Government, that will equally reduce the stress of going to Alaba and Ladipo markets for the purchase of Electronics and other gadgets.
In his concluding remarks, the council chairman called on young people across the world to rise to the realities of the present era and prepare themselves for the opportunities and challenges of the future.
He urged youths to embrace learning, creativity, innovation and active participation in community development, stressing that meaningful development should not always depend entirely on government.
He further encouraged young people to acquire skills and contribute to the growth of their communities through entrepreneurship, technology, research and other productive ventures.
Ogunsola expressed appreciation to the government and people of Jiangxi Province for what he described as a robust and successful hosting of the 2026 International Friendship Partners Conference.
He said the international engagement had strengthened opportunities for cooperation and opened new possibilities for investment and knowledge exchange between Jiangxi Province and Obafemi Owode Local Government.
The council chairman also reaffirmed his administration's determination to position Obafemi Owode as a major industrial destination in Ogun State, saying the local government would continue to welcome genuine investments capable of generating employment, improving livelihoods and accelerating economic development.
The proposed interest by Jiangxi Yawei Electric Co. Ltd. is expected to further deepen the emerging relationship between the Chinese province and Obafemi Owode Local Government, subject to the necessary investment and governmental processes very soon.
