ABUJA — A political advocacy group, Face of Good Governance Nigeria (FOGGN), has officially endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office ahead of the 2027 presidential elections, pledging to launch an aggressive grassroots mobilization drive across the nation’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Speaking at the official inauguration and public declaration of FOGGN FOR TINUBU 2027 in Abuja, the Director-General of the movement, Ambassador Sonia Joy Okochichi, declared the group's "total and unconditional support" for the President, describing his administration’s policy direction as bold, courageous, and essential for long-term growth.
Highlighting key economic and social interventions by the current administration, Okochichi cited the removal of the petrol subsidy, the launch of the national student loan scheme, extensive infrastructure expansion in roads, rail, and ports, and ongoing efforts to stabilize the Naira as critical milestones of the "Renewed Hope" agenda.
"Leadership is not about occupying a seat. Leadership is about making a seat meaningful for the people," Okochichi remarked during her address. "These are not easy decisions. But leadership is about making hard choices today for a better tomorrow. President Tinubu is laying the foundation for a Nigeria that truly works."
Addressing concerns over the socio-economic challenges stemming from ongoing fiscal reforms, the FOGGN leader acknowledged the burden on citizens while urging the President to maintain his trajectory. She called on the administration to prioritize youth empowerment, national security, and the completion of critical infrastructure projects.
Okochichi further clarified that FOGGN is far from a localized political organ, pointing to established grassroots networks designed to mobilize voters across urban and rural communities nationwide.
"Let it be clear: we are not an Abuja-only group," she emphasized. "From Lagos to Maiduguri, from Sokoto to Port Harcourt, from the cities to the villages — our coordinators are on the ground. When FOGGN speaks, the grassroots hear."
During her speech, Ambassador Okochichi expressed gratitude to Barrister Seyi Tinubu for his support and commitment to youth inclusion and development, acknowledging his role in championing governance initiatives aimed at empowering the next generation.
Concluding her declaration with the popular African proverb, "If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together," Okochichi announced that the group’s nation-wide sensitization and structural deployment begin immediately, setting the stage for an early operational footprint ahead of the 2027 electoral cycle.
