SAGAMU, OGUN STATE Political leaders, grassroots mobilizers, youth representatives, women leaders, and key stakeholders from across Remo Federal Constituency on Monday gathered under the platform of Team Elegbeji to reaffirm their commitment to the continued representation of Hon. Dr. Adesola Ayoola Elegbeji in the House of Representatives.

The strategic meeting, held under the theme “Solidarity for Continuity,” drew participants from the three local government areas that make up the constituency—Sagamu, Ikenne, and Remo North—and focused on strengthening political structures, reviewing developmental strides, and charting a course for sustained progress across the federal constituency.

The gathering was marked by a strong sense of purpose and unity, with participants emphasizing the need to consolidate ongoing developmental initiatives and maintain what they described as a responsive and people-centered representation at the National Assembly.

According to speakers at the meeting, the event went beyond political consultation and served as a platform to assess achievements, gather grassroots feedback, and prepare for the next phase of constituency engagement.

Participants highlighted several interventions credited to Hon. Elegbeji’s tenure, including women empowerment initiatives, youth skills acquisition programmes, educational support schemes, healthcare interventions, and advocacy for infrastructure projects.

Many attendees argued that the constituency had witnessed increased visibility and access to federal opportunities since her election and warned against disrupting ongoing efforts aimed at addressing local challenges.

Addressing the gathering, party leaders and community representatives stressed that continuity should be viewed as a strategy for preserving and expanding developmental gains rather than a personal political project.

Several ward coordinators presented reports from their respective communities, while youth leaders outlined training and employment opportunities facilitated through the lawmaker’s office. Women leaders also spoke on empowerment programmes that have reportedly impacted traders and small business owners across the constituency.

One of the recurring themes during the meeting was the belief that sustainable development requires consistency in leadership and long-term planning.

Speakers noted that Hon. Elegbeji’s legislative activities, constituency outreach programmes, and accessibility to constituents had contributed to growing confidence among residents.

Participants maintained that her representation had helped amplify the voice of Remo Federal Constituency at the national level, while creating channels through which federal interventions could be attracted to the area.

At the conclusion of deliberations, Team Elegbeji adopted a three-point resolution aimed at strengthening its political and grassroots engagement strategy.

The first resolution emphasized unity among all political structures and supporters across the constituency. Participants pledged to work collectively and avoid actions capable of creating divisions within the movement.

Secondly, the group resolved to intensify sensitization efforts at the grassroots level through increased engagement with residents in wards, polling units, markets, and communities. The objective, according to organizers, is to educate constituents on the benefits of policy continuity and sustained representation.

The third resolution focused on a renewed commitment to people-oriented governance, with participants advocating expanded investments in healthcare, education, youth employment, entrepreneurship support, and social welfare programmes.

Supporters of the lawmaker argued that continuity would provide the opportunity to complete ongoing projects, attract additional federal interventions, and deepen developmental initiatives already underway.

They expressed confidence that sustained representation would translate into more educational scholarships, greater support for small and medium-scale enterprises, improved infrastructure, and increased opportunities for women and young people.

As the meeting drew to a close, attendees reiterated their support for the continuity agenda, describing it as a pathway toward preserving the developmental momentum already established within the constituency.

The event ended with prayers and renewed commitments from stakeholders to remain united in pursuit of what they described as a shared vision for the advancement of Remo Federal Constituency.

For Team Elegbeji, the message emerging from the gathering was clear: unity, continuity, and sustained development remain central to the future aspirations of the people of Remo Federal Constituency.
