IFO, OGUN STATE, June 10, 2026 — In a significant move to strengthen agricultural productivity and improve the livelihoods of rural farmers, the member representing Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Ayokunle Isiaka Ibrahim, has distributed fertilizers, agricultural equipment, farm inputs and cash grants to farmers across the constituency.

The empowerment programme, which took place on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, attracted farmers, community leaders, party stakeholders and residents from various communities within Ifo and Ewekoro Local Government Areas.

Speaking during the event, Rep. Isiaka reaffirmed his commitment to promoting grassroots development through sustainable agricultural initiatives. He noted that agriculture remains a critical sector for economic growth, food security and job creation, emphasizing the need to support farmers with the resources required to enhance productivity.

According to the federal lawmaker, the intervention was designed to ease the burden on farmers, increase crop yields and contribute to the overall economic development of the constituency.

He stated that empowering farmers is one of the most effective ways of combating poverty, boosting local food production and improving household incomes, especially in the face of current economic challenges.

The beneficiaries received various agricultural support packages, including fertilizers, modern farming equipment, improved farm inputs and cash assistance aimed at helping them expand their farming activities and improve output during the current planting season.

Many of the beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the lawmaker for what they described as a timely and impactful intervention. They commended his consistent efforts toward improving the welfare of the people and addressing the needs of farmers at the grassroots level.

A beneficiary, who spoke on behalf of other recipients, said the support would go a long way in reducing production costs and enabling farmers to cultivate larger portions of their farmland.

Community leaders and stakeholders also lauded the initiative, describing it as a practical demonstration of responsive representation and people-oriented leadership. They urged other public office holders to emulate such programmes that directly impact the lives of constituents.

Observers at the event noted that the empowerment programme aligns with broader efforts to enhance food production and strengthen agricultural value chains in Ogun State and Nigeria at large.

The programme is one of several constituency development initiatives undertaken by Rep. Isiaka, whose interventions in agriculture, education, infrastructure and youth empowerment have continued to attract commendation from residents of Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency.

As beneficiaries returned to their communities with renewed optimism, many expressed confidence that the support would translate into increased agricultural output, improved incomes and greater food security for families across the constituency.
