The Central Coordinate Movement (CCM), a prominent socio-political group in Ogun State, has officially declared its support for the governorship ticket of Senator Adeola Olamilekan Solomon, popularly known as Yayi, and Mrs. Kudirat Adegunwa-Balogun ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
The endorsement was announced by the National Leader of the movement, Alhaji Taiwo Elewide, widely known as Big Champion Akile Egbaland, during a gathering of members and supporters of the group.
According to Elewide, the decision to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship and deputy governorship ticket was reached after extensive consultations with stakeholders across the state and a careful assessment of the leadership qualities, experience, and track records of the candidates.
He described Senator Yayi as a tested and trusted leader whose contributions to governance, legislative development, and grassroots empowerment have earned him widespread acceptance among the people of Ogun State.
"Senator Adeola Olamilekan Solomon Yayi has consistently demonstrated capacity, competence, and commitment to the welfare of the people. His achievements in public service and his passion for development make him the right person to lead Ogun State into a new era of progress and prosperity," Elewide stated.
The CCM leader also praised Mrs. Kudirat Adegunwa-Balogun, describing her as a woman of integrity, administrative competence, and remarkable leadership qualities whose inclusion on the ticket would further strengthen governance and promote inclusive development.
He noted that the Yayi-Adegunwa Balogun ticket represents a perfect blend of experience, vision, and grassroots connection capable of addressing the developmental aspirations of the people of Ogun State.
Elewide called on members of the movement, APC faithful, community leaders, youth groups, women associations, and residents across the state to rally behind the ticket and work collectively towards ensuring its success at the polls.
"We believe this ticket offers the best opportunity for sustained growth, economic development, infrastructural renewal, and improved welfare for the people of Ogun State. The Central Coordinate Movement is fully committed to mobilizing support across all local government areas to ensure victory for Senator Yayi and Mrs. Adegunwa-Balogun," he said.
The endorsement is expected to further boost the political fortunes of the APC ticket as political activities gradually gather momentum ahead of the 2027 governorship race.
Observers believe that the support of the Central Coordinate Movement, known for its grassroots reach and influence in several communities across Ogun State, could significantly strengthen the campaign structure of the Yayi-Adegunwa Balogun ticket.
With the declaration, the CCM joins the growing list of political groups and stakeholders expressing confidence in the leadership capacity of Senator Adeola Olamilekan Solomon Yayi and Mrs. Kudirat Adegunwa-Balogun as the race towards the 2027 Ogun State governorship election begins to take shape.
