The Senatorial Aspirant for Ogun Central District, Mr. Emmanuel Adebola Sofela Shofi , has congratulated Senator Adeola Olamilekan Solomon, popularly known as YAYI, on his emergence as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 election in Ogun State.

Sofela described the outcome of the APC governorship primary election as a clear demonstration of the confidence party members and stakeholders have in Senator Adeola’s leadership credentials and political experience.

Senator Adeola emerged victorious in the party’s governorship primary election held on Thursday, recording a decisive victory that further strengthened his position as the consensus choice of the ruling party in Ogun State.

The primary election, which attracted significant attention from political stakeholders and party supporters across the state, ended with Senator Adeola polling an overwhelming 304,055 votes, while his only challenger, Mr. Abayomi Hunye, failed to secure any vote.

Political analysts had earlier projected a comfortable victory for the senator following his endorsement by major party leaders and governorship aspirants across the state, a development many believed laid the foundation for the outcome of the exercise.

The result also reflected the broad support enjoyed by Senator Adeola among APC members and stakeholders before the conduct of the primary election.

Reacting to the development, Mr. Sofela praised the peaceful conduct of the exercise and said the emergence of Senator Adeola represented the collective will and aspiration of party members in Ogun State.

He noted that the overwhelming support received by the APC candidate underscored his acceptability within the party and among the people, describing the victory as one achieved through unity, consultations and strategic leadership.

Sofela further urged members of the APC to remain united and committed to the ideals of the party as preparations begin for the 2027 governorship election.

According to him, now that the party has successfully concluded its primary process, attention should shift toward strengthening the party structure and mobilizing support across all parts of the state.

He stressed the importance of sustaining harmony among party members, emphasizing that collective effort and cooperation would be vital in ensuring the APC secures victory in the forthcoming governorship election.

With the APC governorship candidate now officially confirmed, political activities in Ogun State are expected to gather momentum as other parties prepare their strategies ahead of the 2027 electoral contest.
