Former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has formally defected to the National Democratic Congress (NDC), barely 24 hours after resigning from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Omo-Agege is expected to formally declare his intention to contest the Delta Central Senatorial District ticket under the NDC platform tomorrow.
Sources close to the senator say his move was triggered by the loss of the APC senatorial ticket to Senator Ede Dafinone, who enjoyed the strong backing of Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori.
The development marks a significant political realignment in Delta State ahead of the forthcoming elections, as the former number two senator in the country seeks a fresh platform to return to the Red Chamber.
