The Ogun State Government has announced the appointment of Mr. Olanrewaju Iskeel Saka as the new Head of the Public Service, following the retirement of the immediate past Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya.
Governor Dapo Abiodun approved the appointment as part of efforts aimed at sustaining effective administration and strengthening the state's public service structure.
Until his elevation to the office of Head of Service, Mr. Saka served as the Permanent Secretary in the Bureau of Cabinet and Special Services, where he played a critical role in policy coordination and administrative processes within the state government.
His appointment marks another significant milestone in a public service career spanning over three decades, during which he rose steadily through the ranks owing to his experience, commitment and administrative competence.
Mr. Saka began his journey in the Ogun State Public Service on May 15, 1993, as a Classroom Teacher on Grade Level 08. He later transitioned into the mainstream civil service in 2006 as a Senior Administrative Officer on Grade Level 09, a move that further broadened his scope of service and administrative responsibilities.
Born on February 15, 1968, the new Head of Service is widely regarded as a seasoned administrator with extensive experience in policy implementation, public sector management and strategic coordination.
Throughout his career, he has built a reputation for professionalism and dedication to duty, earning recognition among colleagues and stakeholders within the state's civil service structure.
Mr. Saka is also a member of several reputable professional bodies, underscoring his commitment to continuous professional development. He belongs to the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management, and is also a Fellow of the Institute of Policy Management Development.
In a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, the appointment was described as a recognition of Mr. Saka's unwavering dedication, hard work and remarkable contributions to the growth of the Ogun State Public Service.
The statement noted that the governor's decision reflected confidence in Mr. Saka's capacity to provide purposeful leadership and further improve efficiency within the state's public service system.
