The All Progressives Congress in Ogun State has officially released the results of its screening exercise for aspirants seeking to contest for seats in the Ogun State House of Assembly, setting the stage for the next phase of the party’s internal electoral process ahead of forthcoming political activities in the state.
In a press statement issued on Tuesday by the Ogun State chapter of the party, the APC informed all aspirants who participated in the recently concluded screening exercise across the state that the results had been made available and attached to the official statement for their information and necessary action.
The statement, signed by the State Organizing Secretary, Mr. Yemi Adelani, emphasized that the screening process was conducted for all aspirants vying for tickets to represent various constituencies in the Ogun State House of Assembly under the platform of the ruling party.
According to the party, aspirants who may be dissatisfied with the outcome of the screening exercise have been granted an opportunity to seek redress through an appeal process.
“The appeal window commences today, Tuesday, May 12, 2026, and will officially close on Wednesday, May 13, 2026,” the statement read.
The APC further directed aggrieved aspirants to submit formally written appeals to the Chairman of the Appeal Committee within the stipulated period, warning that late submissions would not be entertained under any circumstance.
Party officials described the move as part of efforts to ensure transparency, fairness, and internal democracy in the selection process ahead of the party’s next political engagements in Ogun State.
Political observers say the release of the screening results marks a critical milestone in the party’s preparations, as aspirants and their supporters await the conclusion of the appeal process before the emergence of final candidates.
The APC leadership in the state also urged all aspirants to remain peaceful and abide by the rules guiding the exercise while the party concludes the necessary procedures.
The statement was signed by Mr. Yemi Adelani, State Organizing Secretary of the APC in Ogun State.
