SAGAMU – In a significant move to support the Christian community during the ongoing Lenten season, prominent leader and philanthropist, Hon. Dr. Princess Adesola Ayoola-Elegbeji, has launched a widespread food palliative outreach across the Remo constituency.

The initiative, which spanned across Ilisan-Remo, Ode-Remo, and Agbowa-Sagamu, aims to alleviate the economic burden on worshippers observing the 40-day period of fasting, prayer, and penance.

A Mission of Sacrifice and Service

Guided by the biblical injunction in Hebrews 13:16—“And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased”—Hon. Ayoola-Elegbeji and her team visited several major worship centers to personally oversee the distribution. The outreach stops included:

 Living Faith Church, Ilisan-Remo.

 The Anglican Church, Ode-Remo.

 The Methodist Cathedral, Agbowa-Sagamu.

At each location, bags of essential food items were handed over to congregants, providing much-needed relief during a time of spiritual reflection and global economic challenges.

Commitment to Inclusive Governance

Worshippers and church leaders greeted the exercise with immense gratitude. Many beneficiaries noted that this gesture follows closely on the heels of a similar outreach conducted for the Muslim faithful during the Ramadan fast, marking the Princess as a leader who prioritizes religious harmony and equity

> "Her leadership style is refreshingly balanced," noted one beneficiary at the Methodist Cathedral. "She doesn't just represent one group; she remembers everyone. This support during Lent shows she truly understands the heartbeat of her constituents."

Promoting Unity Across Remo

For Hon. Ayoola-Elegbeji, the palliative program is more than just a donation; it is a strategic effort to foster unity within the diverse Remo community. By reaching out to both the Christian and Muslim communities during their respective holy seasons, she continues to build a legacy of inclusive welfare and compassion.

The outreach team emphasized that the Princess remains dedicated to the well-being of all constituents, asserting that her office will continue to prioritize initiatives that promote peace, religious tolerance, and the upliftment of the vulnerable.
