Abeokuta, Ogun State — The Central Coordinate Movement (CCM) has concluded plans to host a series of high-profile activities in Abeokuta aimed at promoting civic engagement, public health, and political solidarity ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
The multi-day program, scheduled between April 25 and April 26, 2026, will commence with a large-scale medical outreach at BMT Park, Kuto Roundabout, Abeokuta. The initiative is designed to provide free health services to residents across the city, including tests for blood sugar levels, high blood pressure, HIV, and other essential screenings. Medical professionals and specialists are expected to be on ground to administer treatments and offer consultations to beneficiaries.
According to organizers, the outreach reflects CCM’s commitment to improving community welfare and ensuring access to basic healthcare services, particularly for underserved populations.
This will be followed by a solidarity walk across Abeokuta on April 26, culminating in a grand event at the Ake Pavilion. The walk is intended to demonstrate support for the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as well as Senator Adeola Olamilekan Solomon, the All Progressives Congress (APC) flagbearer in the upcoming elections.
The grand finale at Ake Pavilion is expected to draw a large crowd of political stakeholders, community leaders, and supporters. At the event, the CCM will formally endorse President Tinubu for a second term in office and declare its backing for Senator Adeola as the preferred candidate for the Ogun State governorship race in 2027.
The Chairman of CCM, Alhaji Taiwo Elewide, popularly known as “Big Champion Akile Egbaland,” disclosed that invitations have been extended to several prominent figures across Nigeria. Among those expected to attend are Hon. Taiwo Oludotun, Ogun State Commissioner for Forestry; Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly; Hon. Atobatele; Hon. Oyedele; Chief Shefiu Adekunle Alao; Chief Nurudeen Olaleye, Alawoerin of Egbaland; and chairmen from Abeokuta South, Abeokuta North, Odeda, Obafemi-Owode, Ifo, and Ewekoro Local Governments.
Hon. Taiwo Oludotun is billed to serve as the Guest Speaker, while Hon. Bukola Olopade, Board Chairman of the Nigeria Football Federation, will attend as the Father of the Day.
Organizers say the event will not only serve as a political endorsement platform but also as a demonstration of unity and grassroots mobilization in Ogun State. With a blend of health initiatives, civic participation, and political engagement, CCM aims to make a strong statement about its influence and commitment to the people of Abeokuta and beyond.
