The All Progressives Congress APC in Obafemi-Owode local government are in a mourning mood following the death of Hon. Titus Bidemi Ogunseye in a ghastly motor accident today Saturday 18th of April 2026 along the Abeokuta to Siun road.

According to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun Sector Command, the accident occurred at about 5:40 p.m. on April 18, 2026, involving a Sino truck and an Opel passenger car.

Sector Commander, Corps Commander Oludare Ogunjobi, confirmed that FRSC rescue teams responded swiftly, arriving at the scene within seven minutes of receiving the report.

A total of 10 persons were involved in the collision, including four adult males, three adult females, two female children, and one male child. Seven victims sustained varying degrees of injuries, while three others—two adult males and one female child—were confirmed dead.

A release by Odunsi Afolabi, Superintendent Route Commander and spokesperson, Federal Road Safety Corps, Ogun Sate Command, revealed that preliminary findings by the FRSC indicate that the crash was caused by excessive speeding and loss of vehicle control.

The injured victims were evacuated to the State Hospital, Ijaye, where they are receiving treatment, while the bodies of the deceased have been deposited in the hospital’s mortuary.

The FRSC reiterated its call for motorists to adhere strictly to speed limits and ensure their vehicles are roadworthy, stressing that compliance with safety regulations remains critical in preventing avoidable road tragedies.
