Ogun Police Decorate 541 Officers as Assistant Superintendents, Boost Command’s Leadership Capacity

The Ogun State Police Command has decorated 541 officers newly promoted to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in a ceremony held simultaneously across formations in the state.


The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, PhD, presided over the decoration exercise, which took place at the Command Headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta, as well as Area Commands, Divisions and other police formations across Ogun State.









The promotion ceremony, which was described as seamless and well-coordinated, formally elevated the officers to the prestigious rank of ASP in recognition of their outstanding performance, discipline and dedication to duty.


According to the Command, the promotion reflects the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to rewarding merit, strengthening institutional integrity and motivating personnel who have demonstrated excellence in service.


Speaking during the exercise, CP Ogunlowo said the elevation of the officers would further strengthen the command’s leadership structure and improve its operational capacity in addressing security challenges across the state.


He noted that the promotion not only recognizes the hard work and commitment of the officers but also comes with increased responsibilities in the discharge of their duties.


The Commissioner of Police therefore charged the newly decorated officers to uphold the highest standards of discipline, professionalism and accountability in the course of their service to the nation.


He also urged them to intensify intelligence-led policing strategies and remain committed to safeguarding lives and property in Ogun State.


CP Ogunlowo further expressed appreciation to the families of the promoted officers for their understanding, support and sacrifices, noting that their encouragement had contributed significantly to the success of the officers in their careers.


The Command reiterated its commitment to maintaining public safety and strengthening policing efforts across the state through effective leadership and professionalism.


The Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, DSP Oluseyi B. Babasiyi, who confirmed the development in a statement issued on Monday, said the decoration exercise was conducted smoothly across all formations in the state.

He added that the promotion marks a significant milestone in the careers of the officers and reinforces the Nigeria Police Force’s drive toward efficiency, dedication and service excellence.
