Residents and leaders of Adigbe and Itesiwaju areas have heaped praise on the Executive Chairman of Obafemi Owode Local Government, Ambassador Adesina ‘Lanre Ogunsola, following the completion of the 1.3-kilometre Ita-Baale/Oluwo asphalt road—an infrastructure long awaited by the communities.
The commendation came during an official visit by the leadership of the Community Development Committees (CDCs) of Adigbe and Itesiwaju to the local government secretariat, where they expressed gratitude for what they described as a transformative intervention.
Receiving the delegation, Ogunsola described the project as a stepping stone toward broader infrastructural development across the local government. He urged the CDC members to sustain their support for government initiatives, noting that the dividends of democracy could only be fully realized through collective responsibility.
“This road is not just a project; it is a symbol of progress and a foundation for further development,” the chairman said. “As stakeholders, you must ensure its preservation and proper use.”
The council boss emphasized the need to regulate heavy-duty vehicle movement on the newly constructed road to ensure its durability. He noted that such community-driven measures would complement ongoing state-led projects, particularly the Panseke–Adigbe–Obada-Oko road corridor.
Ogunsola also used the occasion to call for continued political support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, advocating for his re-election to sustain the administration’s “Renewed Hope” agenda. He stressed that alignment between local communities and higher levels of government would accelerate development.
Highlighting the strategic importance of Obafemi Owode Local Government—described as the largest in Ogun State—the chairman called on CDCs to adopt structured systems for maintaining public infrastructure, given the scale of responsibility.
In a decisive move, Ogunsola announced an immediate restriction on heavy-duty vehicles along the Ita-Baale/Oluwo road, a measure aimed at preserving the newly laid asphalt.
Earlier, the Chairman of Adigbe Area CDC, Alhaji Adebayo Adesanya, expressed delight over the road project, noting that the community had endured years of neglect before the intervention. He commended the council chairman for fulfilling his promise to rehabilitate the road after earlier engagements with community leaders.
Similarly, Chief Babatunde Jamiu Yusuf, speaking on behalf of the Baale-in-Council, praised Ogunsola’s leadership, describing him as a standout among his peers in the state. He reaffirmed the community’s support for the Tinubu administration while also appealing for additional government attention, including the establishment of a modern market and enhanced security presence in the area.
Other CDC members present at the meeting included Alhaji S.A. Ajia, Mr. Abiodun Olufemi, and Seriki Olanrewaju Yekinni, among others.
The visit underscored growing collaboration between grassroots organizations and local government authorities, with stakeholders expressing optimism that sustained partnership would unlock further development across the region.
