A political development is unfolding within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, as youths in Ewekoro Local Government have publicly reaffirmed their support for Hon. Ibrahim Ayokunle Isiaka, the current Member of the House of Representatives representing Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency.
In a formal letter dated March 24, 2026, and addressed to the APC State Chairman in Abeokuta, the Office of the APC Youth Leader in Ewekoro strongly endorsed Isiaka’s bid for another term in office, while distancing themselves from a recent protest staged by a group identified as “Ifo Lokan.”
The letter, jointly signed by Alhaji Fatolu Shina Hammed and Mr. Okanlawon Kazeem Olayinka, described the protest as an attempt by “some individuals from Ifo Local Government” to assert what they termed an “unconstitutional demand” to deny Isiaka a return to the Green Chamber in 2027.
According to the youth leaders, Hon. Isiaka—popularly known as “Easy Life”—has distinguished himself through “wealth of experience, years of service, love from the masses, and indefatigable commitment to the people.” They emphasized that his track record and performance justify his eligibility and continued aspiration, citing relevant provisions of the Nigerian Constitution.
The statement also revisited the political history of the Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency, highlighting what they described as a long-standing dominance of Ifo Local Government in representation since 1999. They listed past representatives from Ifo, including those who served between 1999 and 2015, noting that Isiaka’s emergence in 2015 marked a significant turning point for the constituency.
“Permit us to recall that Ifo people have represented this constituency for four consecutive terms,” the letter stated, adding that the current agitation under the “Ifo Lokan” slogan either ignores or deliberately overlooks this historical context.
The APC youths argued that fairness, competence, and continuity should guide the party’s decisions moving forward, rather than sectional sentiments. They maintained that Isiaka not only has the constitutional right to seek re-election but also enjoys widespread support across the constituency.
“With these facts clearly stated, we reaffirm our unflinching support for Hon. Ibrahim Ayokunle Isiaka, whom the good people of Ifo/Ewekoro have consistently entrusted with their mandate,” the statement read. “We are ready to support him again in the 2027 general elections.”
The group also expressed appreciation to the leadership of the APC in Ogun State, particularly under Chief Yemi Sanusi, describing him as “a listening leader” who has remained responsive to party stakeholders at all levels.
The development signals growing political alignments ahead of the 2027 elections, as internal debates over zoning, representation, and continuity continue to shape the dynamics within the ruling party in Ogun State.
