As Ogun State marks its golden jubilee, celebrations across the Gateway State have been filled with reflections on heritage, resilience, and a renewed vision for the future. Joining millions of citizens in commemorating the milestone, All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Alhaji Yisa Ismaila Adebayo, popularly known as OMO-ADE, has paid glowing tribute to the state’s journey over the past 50 years, describing Ogun as a land of rich culture, strong people, and bold progress.
In a goodwill message released to mark the anniversary, OMO-ADE highlighted Ogun State’s unique place in Nigeria’s history as a cradle of education, industry, and leadership. He noted that from its deep cultural roots to its growing status as a hub for economic and infrastructural development, Ogun State has continued to stand tall as a symbol of purpose and pride.
“Ogun State at 50 is a celebration of who we are and how far we have come,” he said. “Our heritage is rich, our people are resilient, and our progress over the years reflects the strength of our collective vision. From our roots to our rising future, we continue to build with purpose and pride.”
The APC chieftain commended past and present leaders whose contributions, sacrifices, and foresight have shaped the state’s growth, while also acknowledging the role of ordinary citizens whose hard work and unity have sustained development across generations.
Reaffirming his personal commitment to the people of Ogun State, OMO-ADE pledged continued dedication to unity, good leadership, and selfless service, stressing that sustainable development can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace and togetherness.
“I reaffirm my commitment to unity, good leadership, and service to the people,” he stated. “Together, we will continue to move forward in peace, love, and development. Ogun State’s future is bright, and it is our shared responsibility to protect and nurture it.”
He called on residents, youths, traditional institutions, and political stakeholders to remain steadfast in promoting harmony and progress, noting that the next phase of Ogun State’s journey must be driven by inclusiveness, innovation, and a shared sense of purpose.
As celebrations continue across the state, OMO-ADE concluded his message with a proud declaration of identity and hope, echoing a popular expression of Ogun pride: “Proudly Omo Ogun… ÌṢẸ́YÀ!”
