As Ogun State marks its golden jubilee, reflections on five decades of progress, resilience, and enduring greatness continue to resonate across communities and institutions. Joining the chorus of goodwill messages is the Executive Chairman of Sagamu Local Government, Ogbeni Jubril Olasile Odulate, who has congratulated the state and its people while reaffirming his commitment to a future anchored on unity, progress, and shared opportunity.
In a statement commemorating the 50th anniversary, Odulate described the milestone as a moment of pride and purposeful reflection, noting that Ogun State’s journey since its creation has been marked by steady development and the unwavering determination of its people.
“As we mark five decades of progress and enduring greatness of our Gateway State, I reflect with pride on how far we have come,” he said. “This celebration challenges us not only to honour our past but to remain focused on building a future that strengthens unity, accelerates progress, and creates shared opportunities for all.”
The Sagamu Local Government chairman emphasized that the golden jubilee is both a celebration of achievements and a call to action—urging leaders at all levels to consolidate existing gains while laying stronger foundations for generations yet unborn.
According to him, Ogun State’s identity as the Gateway State has translated into its strategic relevance in national development, particularly in commerce, industry, education, and governance. He noted that communities across the state, including Sagamu, have benefited from policies and programmes aimed at grassroots development, infrastructure expansion, and improved service delivery.
Ogbeni Odulate also extended warm congratulations to the Governor of Ogun State, His Excellency, Omo’ba Dapo Abiodun, CON, whom he described as “the Governor of the people,” commending his leadership and inclusive approach to governance.
