In a landmark move that signals renewed commitment to infrastructure development and investor confidence, the Executive Chairman of Sagamu Local Government, Ogbeni Jubril Olasile Odulate, on Thursday officially flagged off the construction of the 2.4-kilometre Ajegunle–Araromi Road. The event, which attracted foreign investors, community leaders, and government officials, was described as a major step toward economic growth and improved living standards within the local government.
Addressing the gathering, Chairman Odulate expressed profound appreciation to the foreign investors who travelled from various parts of the world to partner with Sagamu. He noted that their presence was a strong indication that the local government and Ogun State at large are on a steady path of development.
According to him, “Today’s event is more than the beginning of a road project; it is a symbol of progress, partnership, and shared commitment to a brighter future for our people.” He assured investors that Sagamu remains open for business and committed to creating an enabling environment for sustainable growth.
The Chairman further lauded the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, for his visionary leadership and efforts in making the Gateway State a prime destination for global investment. He credited the Governor’s consistent support and infrastructure-driven policies for the growing interest Sagamu continues to enjoy from international partners.
Odulate also extended warm appreciation to the host community for their cooperation and peaceful disposition, describing them as a critical pillar of the development process. “Development thrives where peace and understanding exist, and you have demonstrated both,” he said, reaffirming that the road project was designed primarily to benefit the community through improved mobility, trade, and access to opportunities.
The Executive Chairman emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in maintaining security, urging residents to stay alert and report any suspicious activities. He reiterated the popular security slogan, “If you see something, say something,” stressing that safety remains a shared duty.
The flag-off ceremony ended on a hopeful note, with expectations high that the Ajegunle–Araromi Road will significantly boost commerce, ease movement, and enhance the overall quality of life in Sagamu.

The project, now underway, stands as yet another testament to Sagamu’s rising profile as a thriving hub for development and investment in Ogun State.
