Exactly one year after returning to office with a renewed mandate, the Executive Chairman of Sagamu Local Government, Ogbeni Jubril Olasile Odulate, has reflected on a tenure marked by progress, perseverance, and people-driven governance. In a heartfelt message to residents, Odulate celebrated the achievements of his administration’s first year, describing it as a period dedicated to building enduring structures and laying a solid foundation for sustainable development.
At the forefront of the administration’s accomplishments is the newly constructed Information Technology Centre, a project built in honour of the late Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga (IJAYA). Odulate noted that although her passing remains a deep loss, her legacy continues to serve as a compass for impactful leadership. Work is currently ongoing to equip the IT Centre so it can begin operations and empower young people across the local government with digital skills.
Equally notable is the full renovation and remodelling of the Legislative Building, a project designed to enhance productivity and create a more conducive workplace for lawmakers and staff. The administration also prioritized critical infrastructure, including the rehabilitation of Sode Road and several internal roads, transforming mobility for residents and improving the general outlook of the communities.
“These projects are more than physical structures,” Odulate said. “They represent promises kept and steps taken toward a better tomorrow. They are what we proudly call our Legacy Projects.”
The Chairman expressed profound gratitude to those who have stood by his administration, highlighting the unwavering cooperation of the Vice Chairman, Comrade Isiaka Salami, members of the executive cabinet, and the 10th Legislative Council led by Hon. Emmanuel Babalola. He also acknowledged the commitment of local government administrators, staff, party leaders, elders, stakeholders, and dedicated party members.
Odulate paid special tribute to his media team and partners for their commitment to projecting the administration’s work with accuracy and professionalism. He further extended appreciation to his family for their strength and patience throughout the journey of governance.
A major highlight of his message was his acknowledgment of the Governor of Ogun State, His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON. Odulate praised the governor for the opportunity to serve and for the fatherly guidance that has shaped the local government’s achievements. He also appreciated the traditional rulers in Sagamu, with special recognition for His Royal Majesty, Oba Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, CFR, the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, for his steady support and wise counsel.
Looking ahead, the Chairman assured residents that the progress witnessed in the past year is only the beginning. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving the quality of life across Sagamu Local Government and ensuring that the impact of governance is felt in homes, communities, and daily lives.
“Our Legacy Projects continue, and we are just getting started,” he declared confidently.
With a renewed sense of purpose, the Odulate-led administration appears poised to deliver even more transformative developments before the end of its term—further strengthening the belief that Sagamu is on a steady path toward sustained growth and improved community welfare.
