..... As Ogun Infrastructure Drive Gains Momentum as Abiodun Approves New Roads, Housing Estates

The Central Coordinate Movement (CCM) has applauded Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun CON, for his recent approval of new road projects and housing estates across the state, describing the move as another testament to his commitment to sustainable development and improved living standards.
In a statement issued by its chairman, Alhaji Taiwo Elewide—popularly known as Big Champion Akile Egbaland—the group commended the governor for what it called his “visionary leadership and genuine concern for the progress of Ogun State.” Elewide urged the governor to extend the gesture to other key areas in Egbaland, particularly the Ibara–Nawarudeen–Isale Igbehin corridor and the long-awaited completion of the Car Wash, Kugba, and Elega roads.
The Ogun State Executive Council, meeting for the first time at the newly commissioned Exco Chamber in Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, on Friday, approved another round of infrastructure projects aimed at bolstering the state’s industrial growth and enhancing intra-state connectivity.
Presided over by Governor Abiodun, the meeting ratified the reconstruction of several strategic roads, including Miliki Junction–Bode Olude–Alhaji Sugar Avenue in Abeokuta North Local Government; Paddy Arikawe Road within G.R.A. Sagamu, Sagamu Local Government Area; and the Itanrin–Sabo Road linking Ijebu-Ode and Odogbolu Local Government Areas.
In addition to road projects, the council also approved the development of new housing units to be undertaken by the Ogun State Housing Corporation. These include 26 duplexes—comprising 12 five-bedroom detached units with boys’ quarters and 14 four-bedroom semi-detached duplexes—within the corporation’s premises in Ibara, Abeokuta. Another set of nine duplexes, consisting of four-bedroom detached and semi-detached units, will rise at the HID Estate (Iseya Court), Obasanjo Hilltop, Abeokuta.
The Executive Council also ratified the establishment and declaration of several traditional councils to facilitate the appointment of traditional rulers across the state. Among those approved were Chief Lai Labode from Abeokuta South as the new Are Egba and Dr. Oluwadairo Adeleke, also from Abeokuta South, as the Ogboye Egba.
Additional traditional titles approved include the Ongbeyi of Yewa South, Olofin of Ijofin in Ipokia, Elebote of Elebote Iboro in Yewa North, and the Awujoko of Ijoko Orile in Yewa North. Others include the Akoko of Tongeji Island, Oniwuye of Yewa South, Opo of Idosemo in Ipokia, Alaye of Oniro-Agute in Ipokia, Olodan of Odan, and the Abujafole of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area.
Alhaji Elewide expressed optimism that leaders and residents of Egbaland would continue to appreciate the governor’s developmental strides, especially if the pending road requests in their communities receive attention. He prayed for God’s continued guidance and success for Governor Abiodun in the discharge of his duties.
With the latest approvals, the Abiodun administration continues to reinforce its focus on infrastructure renewal, urban development, and balanced traditional leadership, signaling yet another phase of growth for Ogun State.
