In a significant stride toward enhancing legislative effectiveness and strengthening grassroots governance, the Executive Chairman of Isolo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Olasoju Adebayo, on Friday presented official vehicles to the seven councillors representing the LCDA’s political wards.
The brief but colourful ceremony, held at the council secretariat, was attended by party faithful—particularly women supporters from various wards—who sang praises of the council chairman while celebrating the lawmakers receiving their new cars.
Presenting the vehicles, Olasoju said the gesture reflected his administration’s unwavering resolve to empower the legislative arm and ensure seamless governance at the local level. He noted that the delivery of the vehicles—just four months into his administration—demonstrated a practical commitment to improving legislative efficiency and deepening democratic dividends across the LCDA.
“Today’s presentation, coming barely four months into our administration, is a testament to our commitment to empowering the legislature to perform its duties effectively,” Olasoju stated. “Just as we are unrelenting in spreading democracy dividends across the seven political wards in Isolo, we will continue exploring every possible avenue to support our lawmakers, enhance service delivery, and make governance more responsive to the needs of our people.”
He stressed that the gesture should not be seen as a privilege granted to lawmakers, but as a responsibility owed to ensure a functional, transparent, and people-centered local government.
One after another, the councillors stepped forward to receive the keys to their vehicles, expressing gratitude and sharing moments of celebration with their supporters.
Speaking on behalf of his colleagues, the Leader of the Legislative Council, Hon. Yusuf Oni, commended the chairman for prioritizing the welfare and convenience of the councillors. He assured that the legislative arm would continue to work collaboratively with the executive to fulfil the administration’s promises to the people of Isolo LCDA.
“We sincerely appreciate the council chairman for this thoughtful gesture,” Oni said. “We assure him that we will continue to do everything within our capacity to support the administration’s efforts toward delivering quality governance and meaningful development to our constituents.”
The event was another milestone in the Olasoju administration’s commitment to strengthening institutions, enhancing the working environment for public officials, and ensuring that residents of Isolo LCDA feel the impact of responsive and progressive leadership.
