Ijebu North, Ogun State – In a passionate appeal to the constituents of Ijebu North, Ijebu East, and Ogun Waterside, former Deputy Minority Whip of the Federal House of Representatives, Rt Hon Adesegun AbdelMajid Adekoya, has urged citizens to take proactive steps in ensuring their voter registration is accurate and up-to-date. Speaking at a community gathering last weekend, Adekoya emphasized the critical role that each vote plays in shaping the future of the nation.
With the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) having commenced nationwide voter registration on August 25, 2025, Adekoya reminded the audience of their civic duty to participate in the electoral process. “Your vote is not just a piece of paper; it is your voice, your right, and your power. It is essential that you exercise this right and ensure that your voter registration reflects your current status,” he stated.
He stressed the importance of correcting any discrepancies in permanent voter cards, urging attendees to verify their information and take necessary actions to rectify any issues that may hinder them from voting in upcoming elections. “It is our collective responsibility to safeguard our democracy. We must ensure that every citizen has the opportunity to voice their opinions through their votes,” Adekoya added, calling on community leaders to mobilize their members for this crucial task.
