A cross-section of dignitaries on Sunday converged in Abeokuta to honour former Permanent Secretary, Justice Jumoke Adewole, who was recently elevated as a Judge of the Ogun State High Court, describing her as a consummate public servant whose career has been defined by diligence, empathy, and integrity.
Speaking at a special reception held in her honour, the Ogun State Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya; Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon. Adijat Adeleye; and Justice Olanrewaju Mabekoje, amongst others, extolled Justice Adewole’s virtues, noting that her elevation from the Bar to the Bench was well deserved. They described her as a seasoned officer who, throughout her years of service, upheld the ethics of the profession, demonstrated commitment to excellence, and delivered service with passion and zeal.
The Commissioner, in her remarks, described the former Permanent Secretary as a loyal team player who remained steadfast to the ethics of the civil service. She noted that Justice Adewole’s tenure was marked by excellence, strict adherence to the rule of law, and an unwavering commitment to service delivery, with no blemish.
Recounting their individual encounters with her as Director in the State Ministry of Justice, and later as Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, they expressed confidence that she would bring the same dedication, wisdom, and fairness to her new role, adding that she would be a valuable asset to the State Judiciary.
In her remarks, Justice Adewole appreciated the dignitaries for celebrating her, assuring them that their glowing tributes would inspire her to greater diligence in discharging her judicial duties. She pledged to uphold the principles of fairness, justice, and equity while remaining a source of pride to the State.
She further acknowledged the contributions of colleagues, mentors, and family members to her professional journey, stressing that diligence and hard work remain the enduring keys to success in public service.
The reception was attended by Members of the State Executive Council, State House of Assembly, Judges, the Body of Permanent Secretaries, top government functionaries, market women leaders, and other well-wishers across different sectors.
