The Tactical Intelligence Response Squad (TIRS) of the Ondo State Police Command has apprehended two suspected drug peddlers and seized 51 bags of Indian hemp in Owo Local Government Area.
The suspects, Usman Bashir (27) and Usman Muhammad (17), both from Kaduna State, were arrested on Thursday, while transporting the substance.
The arrest was made following a tip-off, and the police conducted a search that led to the discovery of the Indian hemp.
Seized Substance weighed approximately 459 kilograms (9 kilograms per bag), they have been documented as evidence, and the suspects are currently in police custody.
The police command commended the operatives for their successful operation and called on the public to provide credible information to aid in reducing crime in the state.
The command reaffirmed its stance against drug trafficking and related offenses, promising to provide further details as the investigation progresses.
