Moloko Asipa—In a heartfelt address during the commissioning of several new infrastructural projects, Amb. Adesina 'Lanre Ogunsola, FCPA, Executive Chairman of Obafemi Owode Local Government, emphasized the importance of collective effort in driving development within the community. The event marked the opening of a renovated health center, a newly constructed police post, and public toilets, all aimed at enhancing the living standards of residents.
In his opening remarks, Ogunsola underscored that the responsibility of developing the community does not rest solely on the shoulders of the local government—it is a collective effort that requires collaboration with well-meaning individuals and organizations. "Our area’s development is a shared responsibility," he stated, inviting philanthropists both at home and abroad to join hands with the government in uplifting the standard of living in the region.
The Moloko Asipa Health Center is one of 38 health facilities managed by the Obafemi Owode Local Government area. Ogunsola addressed the need for improvements in all sectors, emphasizing that primary healthcare, while essential, is just one of many areas requiring urgent attention and investment. His appeal for partnership highlighted the potential for growth and improvement in towns and villages within the council.
During the ceremony, the Local Government Chairman praised the efforts of HRM. Oba (Dr.) Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, for his instrumental role in fostering development across the region. Ogunsola specifically credited Chief Adewale Soniregun, Balogun Moloko Asipa, for his initiative in the renovation of the health facility and the construction of public toilets and a police post, all vital components in improving the quality of life and security in the area.
In his commissioning speech, Oba Gbadebo expressed joy and pride in the accomplishments made in Moloko Asipa. He urged residents to prioritize the development of Egbaland, particularly as neighboring communities in Ogun State witness a surge in the upgrading of baales to coronet obas. The monarch also recognized the remarkable strides made under Ogunsola's administration, stating that Obafemi Owode Local Government has become a beacon for investment—a testament to the answered prayers of the people of Egbaland and Ogun State.
Chief Adewale Soniregun graciously acknowledged the support of the Local Government Chairman, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to contribute positively to the health center. "It has always been my vision to make a meaningful impact in our community," he noted, emphasizing his commitment as a native and chief of the land. Soniregun also took the moment to laud Ogunsola's approachable leadership style, wishing for continued support to enable further contributions to the welfare of the community.
The commissioning ceremony was attended by several notable dignitaries, including the Olu of Orile Imo, Oba Reuben Shogaolu; Chief Lemboye, Balogun Igboore; Chief Abraham Adesina, Arole of Moloko Asipa; Hon. Akeem Oloyede, Councillor representing Moloko Asipa; and Hon. Segun Bajela, Special Adviser on Works and Housing.
