The All Progressives Congress APC, Cross River State Chapter has endorsed President Bola Tinubu, and Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River State as sole candidates for the 2027 general elections, this was conveyed in a resolution reached in Calabar on Wednesday at Hogus Hotel, venue of a stakeholders meeting.
The expanded caucus of the ruling party unanimously passed a vote of confidence on the two leaders and endorsed them for second terms in office.
The party however called on President Tinubu to as a matter urgency approve the dredging of Calabar Port and assist Cross River State in the Bakassi Deep SeaPort project as well as the rail projects initiated by Gov. Bassey Otu which will boost the state’s economy and enhance the financial base of the state.
The meeting was chaired by the state Commissioner for Education, Senator Stephen Odey who stated that based on the duo’s outstanding performance at the National and State levels, they deserved a second term come 2027.
At the meeting, the caucus bemoaned the perceived marginalization of indigenes of the state at the national level, they resolved to send a high powered delegation to be led by the state governor to Abuja to deliberate on the issue.

“Cross Riverians are grateful for the President’s approval/ commencement of the Lagos – Calabar Coast Highway, which has Indeed affirmed the Renewed Hope Agenda.
“The Governor’s deliberate efforts in addressing the security challenges is highly commendable, and he is encouraged to sustain his security architecture in the State.
“The Meeting advocates for regular interface with stakeholders to address challenges in the governance structure of the state.”
The meeting resolved that unity of the Party in the state is sacrosanct.
