President Bola Tinubu hosted Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara, his estranged political ally and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, alongside other governors, ministers, and top government officials for an Iftar dinner at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The gathering, part of the President’s annual tradition of breaking fast with key government figures during Ramadan, also included Vice President Kashim Shettima, Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, and several cabinet members.
Among the governors in attendance were Alex Otti (Abia), Umo Eno (Akwa Ibom), Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), Hyacinth Alia (Benue), Babagana Zulum (Borno), Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta), Monday Okpebholo (Edo), Muhammad Yahaya (Gombe), Umar Namadi (Jigawa), and Uba Sani (Kaduna). Others included Abba Kabir Yusuf (Kano), Nasir Idris (Kebbi), AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (Kwara), Abdullahi Sule (Nasarawa), Mohammed Bago (Niger), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Lucky Aiyedatiwa (Ondo), Duoye Diri (Bayelsa), and Francis Nwifuru (Ebonyi).
Also present were heads of major government agencies, including Professor Abdullahi Mukhtar Muhammad (National Hajj Commission), Sylvester Ndidi Nwakuche (Acting Controller General, Nigerian Correctional Service), Jaji Abdulganiyu (Comptroller General, Federal Fire Service), and Bashir Adeniyi (Comptroller General, Nigeria Customs Service).
The Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Abba Kyari, and the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, Farouk Ahmed, were also in attendance.
The Iftar dinner served as an opportunity for President Tinubu to engage with political leaders, fostering dialogue and strengthening relationships within the government.
