
The Police Command in Akwa Ibom State has arrested one Victor Okoh, 42 who allegedly murdered his wife, Victoria Okoh, 38, at Oron Local Government Area of the state, Timfon John, the PPRO of The Command disclosed this in a statement made available to Newsmen in Uyo on Monday, narrating that the arrest was carried out after concerned neighbours placed a distress call to the police.
The PPRO narrated that police operatives ransacked the building at about 5 am and arrested the suspect who was hiding in the ceiling.
Victor was said to had attacked Victoria with a machete over infidelity.
According to The PPRO , the body of the deceased has been deposited at the general hospital’s mortuary in Oron LGA for autopsy, with investigations ongoing:
“At about 05:20 hrs, operatives of the Command swiftly responded to a distress call from concerned residents. Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered the mutilated body of the deceased lying outside the house she shared with her husband.
“Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect had allegedly attacked his wife with a machete over accusations of infidelity.” The statement read in part.
