Ogun State Government Urged to Boost Manpower and Resources for TRACE

In a pressing call to action, stakeholders in Ogun State have emphasized the urgent need for the state government to enhance its investment in the Ministry of Transportation. This initiative aims to empower the Traffic Compliance Agency (TRACE) to bolster its manpower and effectively enforce traffic rules and regulations across the 20 local government areas of the state.

The efforts of TRACE in curbing road offenses have been commendable, especially in strategic areas known for high traffic congestion and violations. However, the agency's current manpower, which stands at less than 650 officers, is inadequate to manage the growing traffic challenges in Ogun State. As the population continues to rise and vehicle ownership expands, the demand for robust traffic management has never been more critical.

Prince Dapo Abiodun CON, the Governor of Ogun State, has been urged to prioritize the reduction of unemployment within the state by employing more graduates into TRACE. This move not only promises to enhance the agency's operational effectiveness but also offers a viable solution to the alarming rate of joblessness among the youth. By integrating educated individuals into TRACE, the agency can leverage their skills and knowledge to improve traffic compliance and safety measures.
