Request for Designated Parking Area for Long Vehicles/Trailers on Onigbedu-Ibese Road; Community Demands for Road Infrastructure Improvement and Rehabilitation; And Social Welfare to Company Staffs and Workers.
Dear Sir/Madam,
We are writing to bring to your attention a pressing issue that affects the residents and commuters on Onigbedu Ibese Road. The lack of a designated parking area for long vehicles and trailers has become a significant challenge, causing inconvenience, safety hazards, and obstruction of traffic flow.
The Problem:
- Long vehicles and trailers are often parked indiscriminately along the road, occupying a significant portion of the carriageway.
- This unauthorized parking leads to:
- Traffic congestion and obstruction
- Safety risks for pedestrians, cyclists, and other road users
- Damage to the road infrastructure due to prolonged parking
- Inconvenience to residents and businesses in the area
- Potholes : We have observed significant damage to the road infrastructure, particularly the potholes caused by the frequent movement of trailers. These potholes pose a danger to motorists and disrupt the flow of traffic.
- Diesel Filling : We have noticed that trailers often fill diesel on the roadside, which is hazardous and can lead to spills.
- - Frequent and continuous brutal accidents that is claims lives and destroyed properties.
The Solution:
- Designate a specific parking area for long vehicles and trailers, away from the main carriageway.
- Provide clear signage and markings to indicate the designated parking area.
- Enforce parking regulations and ensure that violators are held accountable.
- We urge Dangote Cement to take immediate action to fill these potholes and restore the road to a safe condition.
- We propose to you the establishment of designated filling stations away from the main road to prevent such occurrences.
- Provision of Staff Buses: Many of your staff members and workers commute from our local government area ( Onigbedu, Aga-olowo, Itori, Wasinmi, Mosan etc). Providing staff buses would not only ensure their safety but also help reduce the number of individual vehicles on the road, thereby decreasing the likelihood of accidents.
Benefits:
- Improved traffic flow and reduced congestion
- Enhanced safety for all road users, Dangote staffs and workers, community leaders and elders
- Protection of the road infrastructure
- Convenience for residents, businesses, and commuters
Conclusion:
We believe that Dangote Cement values its relationship with the local community and understands the importance of corporate social responsibility. We look forward to your prompt action on these matters and are open to discussing these issues further if necessary.
We also urge you to consider this request and take necessary steps to address the issue. A designated parking area for long vehicles and trailers on Onigbedu-Ibese Road will greatly improve the overall driving experience and quality of life for everyone in the community.
NOTE: We request that the aforementioned improvement be completed within the next two months. This will demonstrate your company's commitments to the community's safety and well-being.
Thank you for your attention to this important matter as we6 look forward to further discussion or dialogue with the expected appropriate.
Yours Sincerely,
National Youth Council of Nigeria Ewekoro LG branch
