Following the executive order on the removal of all illegal structures and extension of shops under high power tension at Mowe Market, the Executive Chairman, Obafemi Owode Local Government, Amb. Adesina 'Lanre Ogunsola,FCPA has visited the Market once again to ascertain the level of compliance by the market men and women in Mowe market axis during the heavy rain.
Earlier, the Local Government boss visited the market on 24th April, 2024 on a distress report of an electrocution which claimed some lives and several injured, where medical bills were paid and other financial supports provided for the victims .
He therefore directed all the shop owners who are yet to remove erected shop extensions under high power tension to remove it without further delay.
He stated that the compliance level as witnessed 70%, while took time to address the remaining 30% to toll the path of others, as the measure is to avert future occurrence of such disaster and to avoid forceful action of government.
Similarly, Comrade Chief Nurudeen Aina Alowonle, Babaloja of Mowe Market appreciate the council Chairman for his spontaneous approaches and concern for his people and further stated that,' this is the type of Chairman we want, infact we pray if possible God will give him the opportunity to serve second term'. Alowonle also admonished the traders to cooperate with the government at all time as they mean well for the people.
Other stakeholders who rendered their voice of praises and prayers on the Chairman includes, Alhaja Morufat Odebiyi, Iyaloja Mowe, Hon.Atobatele Lukmon, Community Leader, Mrs Folake Afeniforo DPO, Mowe police Division. Mr. Fatusin Julius, MD Judifat Nig. Ltd.
In the same vein, Amb.Adesina 'Lanre Ogunsola, FCPA extended the visit to Ofada Market to inspect an ongoing construction of modern lock up shops embarked upon by his administration.
Speaking at the site, Alhaja Tawa Olorunjekodara, Iyaloja Ofada Market threw her weight of support on the council boss for the landmark projects embarked upon as it is first of its kind since inception of the market.
She further pledged her total cooperation with the government in actualizing the face-lifting and rewriting the history of the market among her sisters markets in the council area.
Among the entourage the of the local government Chairman includes, Hon.Titus Olusesi Babatunde, Vice Chairman, Hon.Taiwo Adio Saula, Supervisor for Special Duties, Hon Idowu Makinde, Special Assistant, The Amotekun, Water and Environmental Officers among others.
