Apex Leader's Status Challenged By The Mandate Movement

In a surprising turn of events, controversy has emerged surrounding the purported leadership status of Prince Bayo Osinyemi as the apex leader in The Mandate Movement (TMM), specifically within the Mushin and, Odi-Olowo chapters.

Prince Wale Arogundade, a CWC member in the state of the group under the leadership of Abdullahi Ayinde Enilolobo, released a statement debunking the affirmation of Prince Bayo Osinyemi as the apex leader.

According to Arogundade, an unknown group using the name of The Mandate Movement had allegedly confirmed Prince Bayo Osinyemi as the apex leader during their kangaroo meeting held on January 28, 2024.

However, he disputes this confirmation, asserting that Prince Osinyemi and his associates are not recognized by TMM. The group that supposedly appointed him is deemed illegal and lacks recognition within the Lagos political space.

The statement emphasizes that decisions regarding leadership positions are exclusively made through the state central working committees (CWC), and Prince Osinyemi's alleged confirmation does not align with the legitimate processes of TMM.

"The public is advised to exercise caution and refrain from acknowledging any leadership claims made by the unauthorized group responsible for Prince Bayo Osinyemi's appointment.

"The recognized Mandate Movement, under the leadership of Abdullahi Ayinde Enilolobo, urges its members to remain steadfast and supportive of the authentic leadership within TMM Mushin and Odi-Olowo," he said.

This development introduces an unexpected twist to the previously celebratory confirmation of Prince Bayo Osinyemi, raising questions about the legitimacy of his group and his purported leadership status.
