Medical Doctor’ Being Investigated For Organ Harvesting In Plateau Is A Quack, Not Our Member –Nigerian Medical Association

In a statement signed by its Chairman, Dr. Bapiga'an William Audu and the Public Relations Officer, Dr. Istifanus Bintum Bako, the NMA said its investigation exposed Kekere as a quack pretending to be a medical doctor.

The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Plateau State branch has said one Mr. Noah Kekere, who is being investigated for alleged organ harvesting, is not a medical doctor as being claimed.

In a statement signed by its Chairman, Dr. Bapiga'an William Audu and the Public Relations Officer, Dr. Istifanus Bintum Bako, the NMA said its investigation exposed Kekere as a quack pretending to be a medical doctor.

Kekere was arrested a week ago after a businessman identified as Alhaji Kamal accused him of removing his wife’s kidney during surgery in 2018.

Kamal said that Kekere’s actions made his wife suffer in the last five years.

The suspect is said to be under psychiatric care at the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH), as he reportedly exhibited symptoms of mental illness on Saturday.

The NMA said, "This is to inform the general public and all concerned that Mr Noah Kekere, who is currently being investigated over allegations of organ harvesting, is not a medical doctor.

"Diligent investigations by the association have revealed that he is a quack pretending to be a doctor.

"Further information will be made available following conclusion of the investigative processes initiated by the NMA as well as the Nigerian Police respectively.

"The association wishes to call on all members and citizens to remain calm as the association is on top of the issue, and is assisting the police to get to the root of the matter."
