Erin wo!

It is with gratitude to God for an exemplary life of service that I mourn and celebrate the life of Chief Ernest Sonekan of Itoko Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria.

Oh, our beloved father and elder statesman was a man who contributed significantly to national development with the most memorable service, being his tenure as Head of the interim government during one of the most trying periods in our country, a period characterized by the prolonged Babangida regime transition which produced the ugly period of what has become known as the June 12 Saga!

The Abese of Egbaland will also be remembered as the first Nigerian to head UAC, a globally inspired business conglomerate among many other significant contributions in the boardroom. He was a great community leader who epitomized the best example in moderation. Nigeria has indeed lost a great statesman. May his soul Rest In Peace.
