The Rotary Club of Yaba Courteville Lagos, within the week, commenced the 2021 tree planting campaign as it planted trees within the premises of Birrel Senior High School, the palace of the Onisabe of Igbobi-Sabe; Oba Owolabi Adeyemi Adeniyi and Courteville Business Solutions Plc.

Rotarian Damisa Ezinwa Iwelu, the Change Maker President of Yaba Courteville Rotary Club 2021/2022 explained that the exercise forms one of the main focus areas of District 9110. It aids against deforestation, provides quality air-flow, promotes nature and beautification of our environment.

" This is the second project carried out by the club.  We also had our medical screening, a 2-days free Typhoid Vaccination, eyeglasses, blood sugar, BP and BMI tests. "

The district was represented by the Planet Earth Committee chairman, Rotarian (Past President) Henry Akinbobola and Committee Secretary Rotarian (Past President)  Adewale Abdul Azeez during the call to humanitarian service in sustaining and beautifying Mother Earth.

Rotarian Akinbobola said all clubs under the district, which covers Lagos and Ogun States, are expected to plant at least 100 trees.

“For this Rotary year, we are looking at planting over 20,000 trees all over the district. “The essence of the exercise is to ensure that we beautify our environment, protect the earth and have a healthy environment by encouraging forestation.

Rotarian Damisa reiterated that the focus for the Rotary year is to ensure that we provide service to others, promote integrity and advance world understanding, goodwill and peace through our fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders.
