Obafemi Owode Local Government Inaugurates 8th Legislative Arm As Akinsola Kehinde Emerges Leader

ABEOKUTA — The Obafemi Owode local government on Monday has inaugurated the legislative arm of the local government in the council.
The ceremony which took place at the Council chamber was witnessed by all the elected Councillors and other eminent personalities from the local government including Party faithfuls.

Speaking during the inauguration, The Executive Chairman, Hon. Ogunsola Adesina appreciated the good people of Obafemi Owode local government for the confidence repose on him and all the Councillors by electing him and his people into power at the local government level.

He vowed not to renege on the electoral promises while promising that his administration will execute good program in accordance to All Progressive Congress APC objectives.











While welcoming the councillors to the legislative house, he charged them to be more proactive and always justify their sittings by making bye laws that will be of  positive impacts on the people of their immediate constituencies. 

"This job is not for the chairman and it's executive members alone, but joint responsibility, we cannot afford to fail and disappoint our peole and our great Party, APC in particular." He said.

Also, he implored them to work harmoniously with the executive arm by making bye laws that will be beneficial to all and sundry in Obafemi Owode local government.

While promising to continue to embark on people's oriented projects and a inclusive government without any disposition.
He said since he assumed office few weeks ago, he had started with the renovation of the local government offices as these will boost staff morale towards higher productivity.

In the same vein, He maintained that the Local government is proposing fifty (50) unit of low cost housing estate that will complement the state government housing policy on affordable houses to the dwellers of the local government. 








Meanwhile, the newly inaugurated legislative arm of the local government at its first sitting on Monday, elected the following principal officers of the 8th legislative councils.

They are Hon. Akinsola kehinde, leader of the house and Councillor representing Onidundu ward, Hon. Emmanuel Adeola, deputy leader of the house and Councillor representing Ofada ward,

Others are Hon. Soetan Sabitu, majority leader and Councillor representing Obafemi ward. Hon. Makinde Ayobami, Chief whip n councillor representing Ajura ward. 

Hon. Kehinde Akinsola,the newly elected leader of the legislative council in his acceptance speech, appreciated His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, executive governor of Ogun state for giving them the opportunity to serve at the grassroots level. 

He promised not to betrayed the trust while promising to support the executive Chairman and the Executive arm in delivering the dividends of democracy to the good people of Obafemi Owode local government. 

He then promised to swing into action by passing well meaningful bye laws and resolutions giving expression to public opinion prompt  priority passage of annual budget and appropriation bill among other statutory duties.

While charging on the need to improve on the IGR of the local government in order to bring dividends of democracy to the door steps of the people of the local government. 

Dignitaries that attended the inauguration were, Hon, Olumide Osoba, member of the House of representatives representing Obafemi Owode, Odeda and Abeokuta north local government, APC party chieftains, APC wards chairmen in Obafemi Owode local government,, career officers in the local government.
