In order to resolve dispute that may occur out of commercial transactions between parties, Ogun State government has organised a-day training on arbitration for law officers in the Ministry of Justice with expertise in arbitration proceedings, to represent the State government on any arbitral cases that may arise out of a contractual relationship with top parties.

The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Akingbolahan Adeniran who made this known in Abeokuta, said the training was facilitated by the International Chambers of Commerce and Youth Arbitrator’s forum.

Mr. Adeniran noted that arbitration is a pre-dispute agreement that must be documented and signed by parties, pointing out that it had been developed over time and must be taken seriously.

The Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Adeyemi Adewole said hiring professional Arbitrators to represent parties at arbitral proceedings could attract huge cost, therefore having in-house arbitration practitioners in the ministry would help save much cost by the government.
