FULANI HERDSMEN: YORUBA YOUTHS (YCYW) OF OGUN STATE CHARGES STATE GOVERNMENT TO BE MORE SECURITY CONSCIOUS, DEMANDS INVESTIGATION RESULTS WITH IMMEDIATE ALACRITY

The attention of the leadership of Yoruba Council of Youths Worldwide (YCYW), Ogun State Council under the leadership of Hon. Sunday Adebowale has been brought to the recent happenings in our beloved state, part of which is the relocation of the Seriki Fulani from Oyo State who has been evacuated from Oyo due to the unruly behaviours of his subjects to the indigenes of Ibarapa community in Oyo state by Chief Sunday Adeyemo p.k.a Sunday Igboho. We also frown at the incessant killings of our fellow youths that are being killed untimely by officers of Nigeria Customs Service and illegal smugglers at Ayetoro, Ogun West Senatorial district of Ogun State.

Also, is the brutal torture of one Mrs Morenikeji Salami at Ijebu North Local Government by this same fulani herdsmen. Hence, we hereby call on the attention of Ogun State Government under the led administration of His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR, to quickly swift into action with immediate alacrity look into the state of security in the state and make known to the general public the results of the investigation that has been carried out so far on the issue of Mrs Morenikeji Salami and all other victims of this unfortunate incident since the relocation of the Seriki Fulani and his followers to our state before it gets out of hands.

In view of the recent happenings and challenges facing the country in recent time concerning the incessant killings, kidnapping and brutality being perpetrated by the unscrupulous elements disturbing the peace of the nation most especially in the southwestern states (Yoruba Land) in the disguise of grazing and rearing of cows i.e the Fulani herdsmen.

It is a known fact that these so called herdsmen in their custom and tradition value their cows than human lives and properties. Which has brought about their unruly, disrespectful and peace threatening to land owners (indigenes) and the entire Yoruba land.

As much as we Yorubas love peace to reign in our dear Gateway State, what we demand in our land as true sons and daughters of Yoruba land is some respect in our own land, and we also draw the attention of His Excellency and all other relevant stakeholders in the state to as a matter of urgency to come up with measures that can help curb the excesses of this evil doers before it gets out of hands.

On the same note we call on our traditional, religious, political leaders, security agencies as well as our fellow sons and daughters in Ogun State to be very vigilant at their respective communities and by doing so we should all try as much as possible to be law abiding, for we are known to be Omoluabis anda genuine Omoluabi is a lover of peace.

Nevertheless, we must also emphasis on the fact that Ogun State is a Yoruba Land and not Fulani's, Yoruba land belongs to Yorubas before it belongs to Nigeria and Yoruba land is not a "No man's land".

Omo Yoruba ni mi, Omo kaaro ojiire!
