The First Lady of Ogun State, Her Excellency, Mrs Bamidele Abiodun, flagged off the European Union/GIZ/Ogun State Government Tomato and Chili Pepper Empowerment Project (TOMAPEP), at the Training of Trainers (ToT) Workshop held yesterday, 4th of November, 2020 at Odeda Farm Institute, Odeda Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The commodities and articles involved in TOMAPEP include Tomato, Pepper, Chilli, Garment/Leather, which all have unique natural target group of Youth, Women and Rural/Smallholder farmers. The Empowerment Project is aimed at training and linkage of over  3,000 participants to Inputs, Credits and Markets, in line with Ogun State Agricultural Agenda of Job Creation, Food and Nutrition, Industrial Linkage and Food Security.
Dignitaries in attendance were, the Honourable Commissioner for Agriculture, Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Chairman Ogun House of Assembly Committee on Agriculture, Ogun House of Assembly Member representing Odeda Constituency, Chairman Odeda Local Government Area, Permanent Secretary, Ogun State Ministry of Agriculture, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Agriculture, Representatives of EU/GIZ, Farmers Group, Processors, Input Suppliers, Development Partners, and other Agricultural Stakeholders.
