LASEMA Recovers Fallen Truck in Double Operation

...Oil Tanker Recovery Still Ongoing

LASEMA is in the process of recovering a fallen Oil Tanker at Mile 2, inward Berger, where a truck conveying a 40feet container had fallen initially.

The just recovered truck laden with a loaded 40feet container and registration number KTU 810 XG that has just been recovered, was the first to fall and blocked 75% of the road.

About 40 minutes after that first incident, an oil tanker that lost control, loaded to capacity with 45,000litres of PMS (Petrol) also fell and was spilling fuel a few meters away from the fallen truck bearing 40feet container that has just been recovered. 

Preliminary Report has it that on arrival at the scene of the incident, "LRT discovered that a forty feet Containerised truck with registration number KTU 810 XG rammed into a pothole along the corridor and fell down.

"This incident has led to the blockage of 75% of the only exit road from the Nigeria Tincan Island port.

"However, no casualties were recorded at the scene.

"LRT, LASTMA, FRSC and Nigerian Police were all responders at the scene.

"The fallen Containerised 40feet truck has been successfully recovered and evacuated from the road with the Agency's forklift".

Operation still ongoing for the fallen oil Tanker.

Preliminary Report on a fallen oil tanker loaded with PMS Product that fell a few meters away from the fallen Containerised truck has it that, "A tanker with unidentified registration, conveying forty five thousand litres of PMS (Petol) lost control and had it's turntable detached from the body of the tanker leaving it's products spilling on the road.

"No casualties were recorded at the scene as the LRT, LRU Fire Unit, LASTMA, FRSC and Nigerian Police Officers are all responders at the scene".

update: The fallen truck conveying a 40feet container has been successfully recovered and evacuated from the road with aid of the agency's heavy duty forklift. Operation is still ongoing on the fallen PMS truck.
