The founder of one of the leading prophetic churches in Nigeria, pastor Schugger Ezenwa Onyeukwu of Grace Revolution International Ministry, Lagos has stated that churches are of paramount importance to the society.
The clergy who has an apostolic gift wants to give Christianity in the nation the desired attention as he claims that activities of the churches have a salutary effect on the nation's economy;speaking to a team of journalists recently in Lagos, he said "churches contribute to the economy, there are always a lot churches that own various business ventures, these business ventures pay taxes to the government, many churches have people they employed, these people are been remunerated and paid salaries at the end of the month thus, helping the government to combat unemployment in the country, anyone that says that churches don't contribute to the economy is totally wrong" he stressed.
On the issue of the CAMA law, he urged the government to give the churches the desired respect, citing that affairs of churches should remain a sacred issue. The government cannot tell us how to run the affairs of the church, it is not right because it is a spiritual issue.
