We're Recording Encouraging Level of Compliance to Government Directives - ACOMORAN.

The Amalgamated Commercial Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association of Nigeria (ACOMORAN), Ogun State chapter has expressed its satisfaction at the increasing level of compliance of its members to government directives. 

This was made known by the Association's Public Relations Officer, Aremo Agunbiade during an interview on OGTV where he discussed the efforts with other Associations in establishing a Joint Task Force to ensure the compliance of government directives on the number of passengers to be conveyed at a time and the use of nose masks.

The interview also had Adewusi Olusola Adekunle, the Assistant Organizing Secretary of Riders and Owners of Motorcycles Organization (ROMO); and Otunba Taophyc Sokoya, the PRO of Articulate Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association (AMORAN) in Ogun state.

Aremo said that the initiative to jointly established a Task Force was borne out of the many disturbing reports that commercial Motorcycle operators in the state were disregarding the directives of the government that allows a rider convey just one passenger at a time, and also only convey passengers using nose masks. 

The directive to convey only one passenger at a time, and ensuring that both the rider and the passengers use nose covers is to assist the government in its fight against the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic. 

The Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun had earlier warned that the disregard of these directives hold severe penalties, when he addressed reporters last week in respect of the pandemic in the state, at the Governor's office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

Gov. Abiodun warned that commercial Motorcycle operators caught disregarding government directives on the use of nose covers and number of passengers conveyed will be arrested.

Aremo said that compliance with the directives have become encouraging since the establishment of the task force, saying that riders are now conscious of the directives as failure to comply held severe punishment. 

He therefore encouraged Commercial Motorcycle Operators to continue to obey these directives, adding that the Task Force has been empowered to enforce compliance
