The dramatic death of a member of the Traffic Association, Jilili Jimoh, still confuses many of the residents of Agbado area in Ogun State where the incident occurred.
Jimmo reportedly dropped and died a few minutes later after tapping into a commercial motorcycle rider (commonly known as an okada rider), Ezekiel Amosu.
The roundabout learned that Amosu had chosen a passenger on Monday who went to the bus stop at Belshi from Delemo, a neighboring locality.
Some distance from the destination, Jimo was said to have swung it down and asked him to pay a ticket fee for the day.
The rider reportedly gave the Jimo N100 the same and rejected it, saying the amount was small. During the bargaining, Aspen reportedly slapped his car and delayed his motorcycle, insisting on adding on the N100.
While Amoso begged to be released, he received another slap from Jimo who began swinging afterwards.
"He went to sit somewhere and before we knew it, he dropped. We rushed him to the hospital and he was blissfully dead when he arrived. I was shocked," a witness, who identified himself simply as Moyva, told our reporter. "The Okada rider didn't touch him at all," he added.
After explaining what was going on that afternoon, resident Simon Johnson stated that the Okada rider explained to Jimo that he had not made a lost route and that he had already paid for a ticket in Delemo.
He said, "I was passing around 2pm when the incident happened. The Okada rider tried to explain to Jelili (Jimo) that he usually runs around Delemo. He was carrying a passenger to Bessie's bus stop when he stopped and asked for ticket fees.
"The rider gave him N100 but he said it was a little. He didn't even tell him the amount to actually pay. The boy told him he wasn't working in Aguadu and showed him the card he picked up that day. Jilly didn't listen.
"Then he grabbed the metal the boy uses to fortune his bicycle and slapped him. He left the bicycle and called some people to beg Jili to release the metal. He slapped him again and went to sit somewhere. He started shaking and dropping. He was blissfully dead in the hospital. Everyone was stunned because the kid didn't touch him. "
Our correspondent learned that the divisional police officer, Agaddu Division, SP Shot Koranga, led a team to the scene to relieve the tension that had already developed in the area.

"People who did not witness what happened were angry. They were pursuing the rider but to the police who came to rescue him from the scene," said Okeda rider Sula Abubaker.
"His friends even testified that the young man was not touched. So there was no reason to treat the rider as a suspect. What I suspect was high blood pressure. His wife told police he usually ran a temperature at night," a source close to the city said.
Ogun Police Department Public Relations Officer DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi confirmed the incident, adding that this was a sudden and unnatural death.
He said, "That's right. He slapped the Okada rider twice. He dropped after two minutes and died. The rider was not touched and numerous eyewitnesses testified at the police station. It was documented as a case of sudden and unnatural death and so the rider's arrest would be a distortion of justice."
