The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of the Zone 2 Command Headquarters Onikan Lagos AIG Ahmed Illiyasu has condemned in strong terms the ugly incident resulting to the death of a footballer in Sagamu, Ogun State on Saturday 22 Feb 2020 and has ordered the arrest of the Officer involved.
He make it known through a press statement signed by the Zone 2 command Police Public Relation Officer, DSP Hauwa Idris-Adamu
The command wrote;
The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of the Zone 2 Command Headquarters Onikan Lagos *AIG Ahmed Iliyasu psc (+)* has condemned in strong terms the ugly incident resulting to the death of a footballer in Sagamu, Ogun State on Saturday 22 Feb 2020 and has ordered the arrest of the Officer involved.
Also any Officer found wanting on enshrined Police duties as specified by law would be sanctioned appropriately.
While commiserating with the deceased family, the Club, Remo Indigene and by extension Ogun State Government and the people in general for this huge loss.
The *AIG Ahmed Iliyasu psc (+)* is assuring that the arrested culprit in this dastardly act is already facing the full wrath of the law through our rigorous Police Acts and Regulations.
He has warned that he would not tolerate any act of indiscipline, Unprofessionalism, Indolence and disregards to Human rights and Rule of law by Officers and men of the two Commands under his watch.
We assure all citizens of the two states the continuous protection of life and property as enshrined in all our extant laws.
He further stated and ordered the Commissioner of Police Ogun State Command *CP Kenneth Ebrimson fcia* to conduct full scale investigation into the case.
