Former Nigeria’s minister of Education, Madam Obaigeli Ezekwesili has reacted to the trending video of Information Minister, Lai Mohammed, appealing to Nigerians to pardon President Muhammadu Buhari as the President was yet to account for his Secondary School Leaving Certificate.

In the video clip, the Information Minister was on a Television Programme explaining the President may have forgotten where his WAEC was, given that it has been 53 years since he left secondary school.

Reacting, Madam Ezekwesili acknowledged having seen the video clip and admitted she was not sure what to make out of Mr. Mohammed’s appeal

“I watched a video clip of @channelstv interview of the Minister of Information, asking Nigerians to forgive the @NGRPresident @MBuhari for losing his school certificate. Not sure what that’s about. Can someone please explain what the request for forgiveness is meant to achieve?” She tweeted on Saturday evening.

Recall that the issue of the president Certificate has been a subject of opposition’s petition at the elections tribunal.

Buhari’s opponent, Atiku Abubakar and the PDP accuse him of not possessing Secondary school certificate – which is the minimum academic requirement for the office of the president.
