Engr. Saleh Dunoma, the Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria has been fired by President Muhammad Buhari in an apparently shocking development.
Rabiu Yadudu, the current Director of Airport Operations in the same agency has therefore been appointed in his replacement which takes immediate effect.
The termination came almost two years into Dunoma's five years tenure since he was confirmed in 2017 by Buhari.
Although the statement by the Deputy Director Press and Public Affairs, Ministry of Transportation (Aviation), Mr. James Odaudu which announced the sack confirmed the President's approval, it did not mention any reason for termination, but an impeccable source said things have been tense between Dunoma and the Minister of State for Aviation, Sen. Hadi Sirika.
The source also revealed that Dunoma has been battling an undisclosed health challenge.
Dunoma with his position as the Managing Director of FAAN was the President of Airport Council International – Africa (ACI-A) in Nigeria, but with his removal Nigeria may lose that position.
Oduadu stated that Yadudu is an International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), Airport Council International (ACI) accredited international airport professional.
He also holds professional certifications in Avionics, Airport Safety Management Systems, Airport Security Management and Air Transport Systems Management amongst others.
