Ogun Governorship Election: Paseda Felicitates with Dapo Abiodun, Charges other contenders to work with him

The governorship candidate of Social Democratic Party SDP, Otunba Olatunde Rotimi Paseda has congratulated Prince Dapo Abiodun over his election victory today. 

Prince Olatunde Rotimi Paseda hails from Omu-Ijebu in Ogun State, he is a UK/Mexico based business man. 

He contested for governorship two times in 2011 and 2015 under Unity Party of Nigeria UPN but lost to Senator Ibikunle Amosun.

In his press statement, he charges other contenders to support the governor elect to thrive Ogun state to a greater height.

CONGRATULATIONS TO OGUN GOVERNOR-ELECT, PRINCE DAPO ABIODUN 

It is with my utmost sincerity that I wish to congratulate my brother, friend and fellow contestant of the Ogun State governorship election, Prince Adedapo Abiodun MFR, for his victory at the just concluded governorship election in the state.

As Governor-elect, your victory was a manifestation that you are the people's choice, 

I have observed that the electioneering process was very strenuous and very keenly contested; despite the turbulent terrain of politics, you gave a good fight. 

I congratulate Ogun State electorate who conducted themselves peacefully during the voting process; they were enthusiastic to exercise their democratic rights of electing candidate of their choice.

Sadly, due to violence in some part of the state, lives were lost and I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences to their families for the death of their loved ones.

While you are savouring the joy of victory, don't forget to heal the wounds of those embittered arising from lost of loved ones and property, and extend hands of fellowship to colleague contestants. You must resist the temptation to see all opponents as enemies, but fellow compatriots who merely believed in their ideals on how best to move the state forward. 

Now is not the time to pursue vendetta against your perceived enemies, but a moment to be more creative in formulating policies that will improve the state’s economy, create employment opportunities and give hope to the suffering masses and our teeming youths.

I however call on all other contenders to close ranks and work with the winner of the election in an objective and constructive manner so that democracy will continue to thrive in our state at this crucial period of renaissance.

I pray to God to guide our democratic steps for peace and progress in our dear Gateway State.
