Former member of the House of Representatives and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in Ife Federal Constituency of Osun State, Honourable Rotimi Makinde, has felicitated with President Muhammad Buhari on his recent reelection as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Makinde in a statement issued from his Ile-Ife country-home early today said that the reelection of Mr President was a good lesson on reward of integrity.
He stated that the political success story of President Buhari is a worthy example of how to preach hope to the youths who are the leaders of tomorrow that building of earthly treasures is an ephemeral.
The former lawmaker also tasked political leaders in the country to learn a very good lesson from President Buhari's success at the polls who won landslide in a contest devoid of crisis.
His words: "Politics should not be a do-or-die affair if the intentions of our political gladiators is to genuinely serve the people. Our politicians should learn from Buhari's frugal approach to his reelection funding.
"The whole thing made a statement that money is not everything. Even without money but with integrity, one can move a mountain".
He said the Buhari victory was a further liberation for the downthroden masses of this nation who had been badly affected by the uneventful 16-year-rule of the now disintegrated Peoples Democratic Party.
Makinde said, with the victory of the APC-elected President, the future of this nation is bright.
He enjoined former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to embrace the game of football approach to the presidential election where he came second to enable the nation to move forward as no individual is greater than the nation.
The ex-lawmaker reminded Atiku that in any contest, a winner must emerge while the international best practice is for the loser to congratulate the winner in a free, fair and credible election like that of last Saturday.
