former Pioneer Secretary General of Inter-Political Parties in Ogun State, Hon.
Akinyele Sharafadeen Ogunwoolu has come out with an explosive rejoinder saying
he never endorsed Rt. Hon Titi Oseni-Gomez as the Senatorial candidate in Ogun
Central.
Hon.
Ogunwoolu who is also a Prince stated this in a one page disclaimer he issued
to one of our reporters yesterday (Monday) in Abeokuta to tackle the recent
news circulating online that he endorsed the Ogun Central Senatorial Candidate
of African Democratic Congress, ADC.
He
said he never belong to any political group named Conference of Nigeria
Political Parties which executives and members are unknown.
Ogunwoolu,
who was shocked with the viral publication stated that the publication was
released to tarnish his popularity and cause disaffection with the present
administration in the state, where he had been recognized as a party chairman
and partner in progress.
The
disclaimer read thus:
My
attention had been drawn to a media publication credited to the Conference of
Nigeria Political Parties, (CNPP) Ogun State, whose chairman, Segun Matthew and
members are unknown, and that I Hon. Prince Akinyele Sharafadeen Ogunwoolu is
their Secretary in Ogun State and that 30 faceless, unnamed political parties
had adopted or have working relationship with the ADC Senatorial Candidate in
the Ogun Central Senatorial District, Rt. Hon. Titi Oseni Gomez.
Their
averment is far from the truth as I did not subscribe to the membership of
Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP) in Ogun State. I was the elected
Pioneer Secretary General of Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Ogun state
in 2016, and had ceased to neither contest nor be appointed secretary to any group.
The
publication, recently released and circulating online was meant to use my
popularity, and cause disaffection with the present administration where I had
been recognized as a Party Chairman and partner in progress. I have not seen
Rt. Hon. Titi Oseni-Gomez for the past seven years, but conversant with the
Senator Ibikunle Amosun led administration and APC in Ogun State.
Hence,
I therefore implore my friends, party loyalists and all people Ogun state, and
Nigeria to disregard the publication which is a February Fool Political Coup of
the bread and butter politicians. Thank you.
