In their usual desperation to delay justice, Senator Buruji Kashamu has met a brick wall in the Federal High Court, sitting in Abeokuta today over attempt to secure a contempt of court order against Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu.
The Court ruled against the motion moved by Senator Kashamu through his counsel, Ms Ifeoma Esom, to order that Hon. Adebutu be slammed for what she termed "contempt of court order".
The counsel alleged that Hon. Adebutu was presented with flag as Ogun governorship candidate at the Lagos Presidential rally held on 12th of February, 2019.
Counsel to Hon. Adebutu, Mr. Muyiwa Obanewa, argued that his client was not presented with flag at the said rally, adding that he watched the programme live on television. He therefore challenged that evidences be presented by the respondent, which could not be presented.
Following the arguments of both Counsels on the adoption of the applicant's application and proper hearing on the originating summons, the court adjourned till Thursday, 21st February, 2019, to properly allow Senator Kashamu respond to the motions filed by Hon. Adebutu's counsel.
Today, Thursday, 14th February, 2019, was initially fixed to listen to consequential amendment made to the case after the joining of Senator Kashamu in the mandamus application filed by Hon. Adebutu on INEC compelling it (INEC) to include his name as candidate of PDP in the state.
"No matter what tactics to pervade the truth or delay, I will deliver judgement on this matter once it is heard and it will be binding", Justice Abubakar Shittu said while reading his ruling.
Therefore, assurances of true Justice is clear for claiming the mandate and having INEC to abide by the rule of law once judgement is delivered.
